Within the Mayan culture, flowers had deep meaning in religion and folklore – used in decoration, rituals and to adorn a King’s headdress. They also symbolized the Gods; the North God represented by red flowers, East with yellow flowers, South with purple flowers, and West with white flowers. Even today, our ceremonies are willed with flowers and we still choose colors based on ancient symbolism – red symbolizes love; yellow for new beginning, purple means success and white represents purity.
